First Energy Storage Facilities Connected to Marviken Smart Energy Cluster

The first two energy storage facilities in the Marviken Smart Energy Cluster have been connected to the electricity grid to improve the energy system and ensure a reliable energy supply. The Swedish electricity grid faces challenges regarding frequency and balance due to increased electrification and the production of weather-dependent energy. Energy storage facilities are becoming increasingly essential to guarantee a reliable energy supply and optimize the energy system. By integrating energy storage facilities, the efficiency and flexibility of actors within the Marviken Smart Energy Cluster increase with the main aim of reducing energy losses within the industry.
